The groom not seeing what dress the bride is wearing

September 2nd, 2010

There are many traditions that are accepted when it comes to weddings, especially when it comes to the groom not seeing what dress the bride is wearing. This makes it very difficult to have any sort of say when it comes to this aspect of the wedding plans. Of course the groom will already have a good understanding of the them of the wedding and whether it is going to be modern or more traditional. It used to be the case that the groom wouldn’t get the chance to see his beautiful bride in her dress however it would be understandable that he wouldn’t want to offer his opinion on the wedding day.

It is fair to say that today’s modern bride is much more concerned about the opinion of her groom and will will try to balance her opinions against him in order to make sure that she will find a wedding dress that they both like. In some cases they will take their groom to be out shopping so that when they are looking through potential dresses they can listen to his opinion. He is sure to have a variety of opinions as som grooms will prefer their bride to go for a more conservative look where as others may prefer something more elegant or flamboyant. Everyone can agree that the wedding dress is one of the most important parts of the overall wedding so it stands to reason that the groom should be able to have his say.

Because you are certainly all-grown-up now, this is your chance to plan your wedding exactly the way you want it to be, without any unnecessary consideration for the wishes of parents. However, you will want to discuss your feeling and carry out the planning with the groom.

On the other hand, if the formality and style of your first wedding did suite your taste, you should feel free to repeat those elements. Nevertheless, since this is a time to look toward the future, rather than returning to the past, don’t get bogged down with history. Using the same reception site or adding the same personal touches would be in poor taste, so should be avoided.

Babies look very cute in whatever clothes they are dressed

September 2nd, 2010

Just as with your first marriage, your second marriage is a new beginning with your fiance. So it makes sense that many of the traditional rituals and rules of etiquette apply. But which ones?

There is no reason why you should not register for gifts, have a shower, or wear a white, full-length gown at the altar. Whether or not you will choose any of these options is now considered strictly a matter of personal preference dictated by your style.

Charting a new course

When it comes to the ceremony, one of the questions that experienced brides-to-be frequently ask themselves is “Do I really want to do everything the same or do something completely different?” If you were married in a civil ceremony the first time, maybe it’s time to consider a church ceremony, complete with flower girls, a ring bearer, and attendants.

Babies look very cute in whatever clothes they are dressed, and if the dress is smocked, they look even cuter. Smocking is a type of embroidery where elastic is fitted in and the material gathered up. This may also be done without elastic. This is one of the oldest styles in baby dresses. With elastic the smocking is used instead of buttons and fasteners. The advantage of smocking is that it stretches according to the baby’s size and therefore will last longer and is ideal for growing babies. Thus mothers would be spending less on clothes if they go in for smocked baby dresses. Smocked dresses have a special aura in them to make the baby look very pretty.

Smocked dresses cling to the babies body

September 2nd, 2010

Smocked dresses cling to the babies body and hence keep them comfortable giving them no hindrance in their movement and they can twist and turn and have fun. It is a style that can be done on either dresses or even pants and therefore have become the favorite of parents. They are however a bit more expensive than other simple clothes for the simple reason that they are manually tailored and it takes more time to work upon them. It takes nimble soft hands and a lot of patience to complete smocked dresses owing to their small size. Even so making a smocked dress for your baby is a very thrilling experience especially when you have them on the baby after completion.

Before you both go out shopping for that ideal wedding gown it would be sensible to site down and discuss the budget for your wedding as well as how much you would like to set aside for the dress itself. Once you have established a suitable budget this will make the rest of the planning process much easier. If you are sticking to the old tradition of the bride’s parents putting up the money for the wedding then that is one less thing for you to worry about, however if you are funding it with your own hard earned cash then clearly the wedding budget is going to be something which will require a great deal more consideration. Picking a sensible budget for a wedding dress can be very difficult as prices can vary from relatively cheap to prices which may seem astronomical. The important thing is that you keep a perspective on what is important for your wedding. The last thing you would want to happen is for the amount of money you spend to compromise the budget for the rest of the wedding!

In this day and age where the groom is more inclined to have a say in the wedding dress, make an effort to browse as many places and shops as possible. There will be plenty of specialist wedding websites that will offer photos of dresses from popular dress designers. You may even find that buying a dress online is a little cheaper than in the usual high street shops. As we have established, it is important that you both agree on a style AND price before you go out to make a purchase.

Most of the designer special occasion clothes are branded

September 2nd, 2010

Always make sure your shoes and belt match, don’t be that guy is wearing a brown belt and black shoes or vice versa. In my opinion don’t ever wear sneakers to work.

For gods sake think twice before wearing khakis. When it comes to dressing for work somehow most men got a memo that they can wear some dockers khakis and bad shoes. If you really want to look great in your company and you don’t have good dress pants, wear suit pants without the suit jacket and tie. Just because it’s business casual doesn’t mean it’s not business. By dressing sharp you convey to your employer that you are there to work not socialize, and you’ll be far better off when promotions are handed out.

Most of the designer special occasion clothes are branded, with catchy brand names which instantly strike a chord with the younger generation. Creativity and distinctive designs are the hallmarks of top dress designers. The type of fabric, the accessories , colors used, are all carefully selected since marketing designer dresses are all about giving the customer the best value for money and also the prospects of continued business and developing brand loyalty. They also do have all sorts of hot offers which are hard to resist.

All said one can simply design their own special occasion dresses and still stand out if they have the flair and taste for designing dresses. This will not only keep their money in their pocket but will also give them satisfaction and raise their spirits when accolades come for their creation. So with a little bit of creativity you can simply raise a few eye balls.

Choose good suits with classic cuts

August 26th, 2010

Emo fashion is inextricably associated with that genre of music and it is unmistakable. The look extends from the clothes worn to the jewelry and the hairstyles used by its followers, most particularly teenagers. However, it is very easy to get the look wrong, and this mostly happens due to trying too hard.

There is a stereotype of emo fashion, and that is of a person wearing skinny jeans and T-shirts bearing the names of emo bands. Teenagers who follow this style normally go for an angst ridden and emotional image and the clothes are meant to portray that image. There is also a specific hairstyle associated with this style of dressing.

Only a person who is immersed in the emo culture would know how to dress correctly. There are a lot of nuances to it and a person who is not in the know will get it wrong very easily. Teenagers are very unforgiving of these fashion transgressions and if you try to do emo fashion without e knowing too much about if you are sure to be the laughing stock of your peer group.

The classics are always, well…classic. If you have a few good classic staples in your wardrobe, you can build upon them each year and never have a tired look. Choose good suits with classic cuts (think a more modern version of the double-breasted suit that emphasizes wide shoulders, a narrow waist, and narrow trousers), a few pairs of good jeans, and a nice coat or two. Wool pea-coats are one of those classic staples that never get old, and look good over anything.

Keep good grooming habits. There’s no easier way to ruin the effects of great clothes than when you go out with greasy hair or an unshaven face. Daily maintenance takes a lot less time than occasional overhauls, so take a few minutes each day and make sure your face and hair are tidy. Get your hair cut regularly, and invest in a good razor. If you’re one for a beard or moustache, keep it trimmed and clean.

These ten general fashion tips will help even the most hopeless of men get a grip on how to be fashionable. Be amazed at how your friends and family (and complete strangers) notice your improved appearance when you make these simple changes.

Clothing is just one of the things that you’ll need for college

August 26th, 2010

When shopping for clothing for your upcoming school year, no matter what kind of dress code you have, always look for cheaper alternatives like resale shops, discount retailers and more. You’ll be surprised how much you can save when you shop at discount stores and you’ll also be amazed at what kind of name brands that is there. Why should you pay full price for name brand clothing when you can get all for a discount of up to 75% off.

Clothing is just one of the things that you’ll need for college. When it comes to money, always make sure you put tuition and books before fashion.

It was in 1926 that Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel had a picture in Vogue of a simple, short black dress. It was straight and calf-length and something that could be worn by any woman. At the same time soon after the First World War there were other radical changes happening in fashion. The bouffant style hair was giving way to short bobs, but more radically some women were no longer wearing corsets and rummaging in male wardrobes, and they were indeed beginning to dress like boys!

Initially the designers did not seem to take to this change so well but after time they embraced it and lady’s wardrobes had a more androgynous style. The full outfit showed a waistless, bustless figure but was dressed up with flamboyant accessories. Coco Chanel was a fashion icon and she helped along the sporty look, the little black dress and the use of jersey knit for ladies clothes.

During the Great Depression the little black dress retained its popularity due to its elegance and affordable price. Hollywood helped this along as many of the dramatic female characters were seen wearing halter neck versions of this fashion staple and the less dramatic ones were wearing the normal version. The style continued to spread during World War 2. The 1950s were conservative so the style became more of a uniform again and also synthetic fibers had become popular during the 40s and 50s. But then arrived the 1960s.

Many college students like to wear the jacket

August 26th, 2010

Korean sizes are different than both of those listed above. To find you Korean size, you will just need to add 2 to your British/U.S. size.

Be sure to do a good measurement of the circumference of your neck before you go shopping, or find a good tailor to do the measurement for you. Always remember the rule that there are 2.54 centimeters to an inch to make easy conversions from British/U.S. sizes to Japanese/European sizes. This will ensure you know what to buy whether you are shopping in New York, London, Milan, or Tokyo.

If your collar size is above an 18, you may find yourself frustrated shopping at standard men’s stores because your size is not readily available. There are amazing specialty stores for “big and tall” men that will have your size on hand. A few men have very non-standard proportions and find that choosing shirts based solely on their neck size do not work. The best option if you just don’t fit the standard mold is to find a good tailor to work with. Usually you will still purchase dress shirts based on your neck size, but a good tailor can get the rest of the shirt to fit your body type perfectly.

Students who attend colleges and universities all have the same thing in common when it comes to wearing certain types of clothes. The colleges do not require the student to wear anything special but it is just a common over all dress code that just about everyone in America wears today. Many college students like to wear the jacket of the school showing their colors and sometimes they wear sweaters, sweet shirts, and hats that all bare the school colors and logos. More commonly worn by most students are the traditional blue jeans, t-shirts, and sweaters. Many students wear gym shoes or loafers on their feet. Those students who attend college in the southern states may wear sandals or sneakers while the students from the northern states wear boots because of the cold weather.

General Information on Men’s Dress Shirt Sizing

August 26th, 2010

Many colleges do not require a dress code for their students but some of the Ivy League Universities do have certain insignia’s that the students are very proud to wear. Many of the Ivy League universities provide the students with their own numbers and jersey’s when they are athletes. Their students are often use to getting their own special jackets with the insignia that designates what University that they are attending. Most students wear their University’s dress wear when it comes to important events.

General Information on Men’s Dress Shirt Sizing

Most men’s dress shirts are measured by the width of the neck at the collar. For most men, the measurement of their neck coincides nicely with the proper sleeve length and breadth of the rest of the shirt. Another thing to consider when finding the perfect fitting dress shirt is to think about the style you prefer. If you like a more form fitting shirt to accentuate an athletic frame, go for a more tailored style shirt. If you have a heavier frame, the cut of a standard “American” dress shirt will probably fit the bill.

About Measurement Numbers Used in Sizing

British and U.S. sizes are actually identical for men’s dress shirts. The number you see listed on the sizing tag refers to the number of inches around the circumference of your neck. Small dress shirts are sized between 14 and 15. A medium size dress shirt is between 15 ½ and 16 ½. Large dress shirts are between size 17 and 18 and anything larger than an 18 would be considered extra large.

Japanese and European sizes are also based on the circumference on the neck, but they are listed in centimeters instead of inches. If you know your British/U.S. size, simply multiple it by 2.54 to get your Japanese/European size. If you are in a hurry and don’t have a calculator handy, you can add 22 to your British/U.S. size and then round that number up for a good guesstimate of your Japanese/European size.

A jacket and tie used to be so de rigueur at restaurants

August 19th, 2010

A jacket and tie used to be so de rigueur at restaurants that dining rooms of all complexions kept a few in the coat check room to ensure that if some rube who didn’t know better wandered in dressed improperly, he could be kitted up enough to decently eat his steak with the other diners. While this dress code does not exist in most restaurants today, it only makes sense that if you are headed for a place nice enough to have a menu that is not illustrated with photographs and “fun facts,” you should dress appropriately.

Every man should have at least one good suit, even if your job and social calendar never require you to wear one. If an opportunity opens up in your office for you to speak at a conference, attend an important meeting, or have dinner with the boss and his wife, you are going to need a suit. Furthermore, if you live a normal life, you’ll need a suit for weddings, funerals, christenings, and other such events.

Let’s be honest do you have the same hair cut since you were 15? Visit a salon and get some advise from a stylist they are experts in knowing what hair cut is most appropriate for your face. Change your look and you may notice more women opening up to you. Don’t be afraid of change, it’s healthy mentally and who knows you may like it.

By no means do I suggest that expensive cloths will get the girl – on the contrary women will look at a man’s personality and masculinity above all else. What I do argue is that looking clean and presentable will open you up to more women.

Don’t overdo the personal care here, I mean don’t become a ‘meterosexual’ and book an appointment for a manicure, pluck your eyebrows and start reading Cosmo. Deep down confident men are comfortable with their looks no matter what however they also take care of themselves. There is nothing wrong with a man looking his best, having a nice hair cut, wearing nice cloths and smelling good. The point here is not to over do it and keep it normal.

There are undoubtedly times that a T-shirt

August 19th, 2010

Visit the closet of any American man, and you’re likely to be engulfed by an amazing number of T-shirts and an equally astonishing hoard of blue jeans. This is especially true of young men, but an increasing number of men of all ages have – quite frankly – forgotten how to dress like men.

There are undoubtedly times that a T-shirt and a pair of jeans is the right thing to wear – a sporting event, walking the dog, or building a superhighway. This is also the right thing to wear for most rock-and-roll concerts, panhandling, and pumping gas.

But let’s face it, folks – there are many more events in life than these, and part of being a real, live, grown-up man in this country is knowing what to wear to a number of different places.

Consider what I’m about to say one of life’s mysteries there is no explaining it just simply accept it. Pay in particular attention the shoes you wear. Women will look at a man and the first thing she will notice is what kind of shoes he’s wearing. You should have a minimum of four pairs, two pairs of dress shoes in black and brown and two pairs of casual shoes, again in brown and black.

Also it doesn’t hurt to buy a nice bottle of cologne. My personal favorites are from Jean Paul Gaultier and Bulgari for men. Throw away that bottle of old spice and kick it up a notch with a new scent but don’t over do it with the cologne. Nothing is more disgusting than someone that has sprayed half a bottle on their body..

Some common sense tips as far as hygiene is concerned bath every day with soap and water. I recommend lathering up twice and clean your body thoroughly Brush your teeth and use mouth wash for those of you with yellow or stained teeth try using those over the counter teeth whiteners. Shave everyday or make sure your facial hair is neatly trimmed and well groomed. Believe me this will go a long way women are not attracted to guys that don’t take care of themselves.
